No Season 2 for the new comedy.

It looks like 9JKL is officially done at CBS. The cancellation is no real surprise, as the comedy was considered a long-shot for renewal when back in November the network added just three episodes to its original order.
The half-hour series got off to a decent start ratings-wise after its premiere last October despite negative reviews from critics. But its momentum slowed considerably over the course of its run, resulting in CBS hesitating to give it a full-season pickup.
9JKL starred Mark Feuerstein - perhaps best known for his lead role in USA Network's Royal Pains - as Josh Roberts, a recently-divorced actor who returns home to regroup between projects. Unfortunately the apartment he ends up living in has him stuck between his parents on one side and his competitive brother and sister-in-law on the other. With Josh's family being a little too close for comfort, he realizes that personal boundaries must be established.

This show was on my dead pool list from the start. None of the actors seemed to like their characters. I really like Linda Lavin and Elliott Gould but she looked like a cardboard cutout that could talk, and he was clueless beyond belief. Unless his character had dementia, I don't see how "Harry", an educated man, retired from a several decade long professional career would be so unaware of things around him.
I still watched it. It was one of the shows i looked forward to at the start of the season, but ended up being one I hoped didn't disappoint me in the next episode. Eventually it didn't because I gave up hope that it was going to improve.

I enjoyed this cute little show. Linda Lavin was really funny, and Elliott Gould too~

Not at all surprised. Here's hoping Mark Feuerstein finds success elsewhere. Was a huge Royal Pains fan.

this was one of those shows that you "watch" while doing things on the computer. it wasn't the worst but it wasn't the greatest either. moving on...
