No Season 3 for the Kevin James comedy.
May 12, 2018
It is being reported that CBS has cancelled Kevin Can Wait after two seasons. Andy Fickman, an executive producer on the show, broke the news with a post to his Instagram account, thanking his cast, crew, and writers.
The comedy starred Kevin James in his first leading role on television since his nine-year stint on The King of Queens. He played a recently-retired police officer looking forward to having more free time to spend with his family and friends. But when his oldest daughter decides to drop out of college, Kevin puts his plans on hold and moves her and her fiancé into his home so that she can stay in school.
The half-hour series was a decent performer on Monday nights, though ratings slipped during its sophomore run after the show replaced original cast member Erinn Hayes, who played Kevin's wife, with Leah Remini, who previously co-starred with James on The King of Queens.
The show's final episode, now its series finale, aired just last week.

Having to watch Leah Remini's over-botoxed face is what finally killed the show. Can that woman speak without sounding like she's been paralyzed from a stroke?

I was not a fan of KOQ and never have thought Kevin James was that funny, but I tuned in and actually enjoyed this show. Then they brought in Leah Remini. I'd rather watch Kevin James do 12 hours of stand-up. I was hoping she was going to be just a supporting role but then they killed off the mom and brought her in as a regular. I tried watching after that but for me, the show just lost its way. It became KOQ all over again. No thanks.

Season 1 had some great episodes including it's finale with Leah Remini but killing off Erinn Hayes the way they did made me stop watching by episode 3 of it's second season, nothing about it was logical and it was just awkward to watch from that point on so no shock to me this got canned.

I haven't really liked it since Erin Hayes left. As the mom, she was the heart and soul of the show.

I really liked this season with Leah Remini, so that sucks it was cancelled, it had some really good episodes. It's funny though how viewers won't give a show a chance if they change a character. I thought it was good with the wife in and and it was good this year without. I will say one thing though, the episodes with Adam Sandler weren't even funny, which doesn't make sense. It's like he showed up on set and they just randomly started making something up to fill space.

ERINN HAYES WAS THE SHOW. SHE WAS THE TYPE OF PERSON YOU WOULD WANT FOR A SISTER - COUSIN - FRIEND - NEIGHBOR - GIRLFRIEND - OR WIFE. SWEET, CHARMING, AND LOVABLE. CBS COMMITTED A DOUBLE HOMICIDE. WHEN THEY KILLED ERINN, THEY KILLED THE SERIES. SEASON TWO WAS PAINFUL.

Buh Bye. Stopped watching after you fired Erinn Hayes. I've only been checking this site to see when the show was cancelled. Kevin James tried too hard to make the show all about himself and it became obvious it was sailing into the shoal...

Kevin James just could not leave well enough alone. Erinn Hayes and the rest of the supporting cast of Kevin Can Wait was the best part of this show. I loved King of Queens but it seems that Kevin James and his ego just can't move on. It was his decision to reformat this show and he is directly responsible for its cancellation. If Erinn Hayes had remained in the show it would NOT have been cancelled. Learn from your mistakes Kevin James!

Anyone else notice when Kevin James is in trouble with ratings or popularity, he recalls some past success. The series finalé of this proves it.. brining in the cast of Grown Ups (which was horrible) to try and spark some sort of desire to renew the series. He's done it before.. no successful films in years so he does Mall Cop 2 which was just a rehash of the same jokes. James can be funny.. but when he's lagging he's horrible. He's more "lucky" than talented.

Kevin can wait but Karma waits for no man. We barely liked season 1 and then they killed off the most likable character. Glad we stopped watching after season 1. Chale we won't miss your annoying self. And those kids, blah. So bye Felicia.
