The reality spin-off will return for a second season.
May 12, 2018
CBS announced today that Celebrity Big Brother is being brought back for Season 2. The good news follows a successful debut outing of the reality spin-off, which premiered earlier this year for a two-and-a-half week run.
Airing in February during the Winter Olympics, the series fared well against the games with consistently solid ratings. While regular Big Brother typically airs during the summer months, it's likely that CBS will keep the celebrity edition as a mid-season option in 2018-2019.
In Celebrity Big Brother, famous actors, athletes, and entertainers are sequestered in the Big Brother house, where they play an abbreviated version of the well-known reality series. Isolated from the outside world and constantly under surveillance by a house full of cameras, the house guests must use their social, mental, and physical abilities as they compete for the chance to win it all.

I was excited about Celebrity Big Brother, but I couldn't sit through the first episode. I didn't care about any of the so-called celebrities. The regular version in the summer is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine though.

These pseudo reality shows go for the lowest common denominator. They are cheap to make, and for some reason people keep watching this garbage.

Having both seen the UK and US version, I've got to say the US one is a total shit show. It's obviously scripted to the nth degree and those so called "celebrities" are not even Z-List. FOr season two, I wonder if we can expect "YouTube Stars" and the like.
Reality shows in general are the bane of humankind. TV on the most primal level. Sad where this has come to.

"Celebrity" is a really loosely used term here. I'd be surprised if something like this would do well ratings-wise if were to run for more than 2 weeks. I tolerated the first season because it was only a handful of shows (and I still hated almost everyone at the end).

Let's be honest, this only had the ratings it did because of Omarosa. Guarantee this won't last.
Although, it is cheap to make, so maybe I'm wrong.

The downfall of society as we know it - when great shows are canceled, and complete garbage like this goes on, and on, and on. Disgrace
