The daytime series will end after seven years on the air.
May 23, 2018
ABC announced today that The Chew will be coming to an end after its current seventh season. The move is a result of the network expanding the popular Good Morning America to three hours beginning this fall.
The Chew premiered in 2011 as a daytime talk series with a new hybrid format that focused on topics related to food and lifestyle. During its 1400+ episodes on the air, the series picked up two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Talk Show and Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host.
New episodes of The Chew will continue to be produced until season's end, which will be sometime in September. All-new episodes resume airing in June.

This was not the view. it was not on at a certain time nationwide. They took it away from some networks so they would have room in others? sounds like they just didn't want it.

I haven't watched The Chew in a few years, but my mom loves it. I enjoyed the eps I did see. Sadly, soaps aren't coming back. Those casts have long moved on anyway.
How does an extra hour of GMA work in markets where The Chew is an afternoon show?
The Chew may have gone through some changes, but it was still a unique show. The Food Network doesn't have anything similar - not to mention the annoying # of reruns they air.
I can't imagine that the presence of The Chew on the air really effects many people who DON'T watch it in a negative way so why all the joy over the cancellation? Soaps weren't cancelled for TC. They were just cancelled. Time to finally save the recipes before the site comes down.

They played this on the tv in the breakroom at work. I couldn't tolerate it and retired. Now I am happy at home and watch what I want.

The Chew is a great show. I am retired and look forward to seeing The Chew in the afternoon. I don't want to see Good Afternoon America at that time period. The Chew has a great cast with clean, pleasant, enjoyable entertainment and great food recipes. I see enough bad news on the morning and the evening news! I don't want to see Good Afternoon America at 1:00 in the afternoon.Didn't they already have Good Afternoon America in the summer of 2012 with Lara Spencer and Josh Elliott? That didn't last! PLEASE keep the great crew of The Chew on! Sunny Anderson would be an great addition.

It got rather monotonous so I stopped watching it. It was all burgers and pasta. If I wanted to just see those I would have kept watching Rachel Ray.

We watch the Chew every single day. Three hours of Good Morning America is gross. I am so very sick of watching the news and constantly hearing about all the violence hear and abroad. Watching the Chew really makes our day. We have learned so much not only about cooking but many other things. Karla, Clinton and Simon We will miss you so very much. I will not be watching Good Morning America and that's a fact.

For some of you dislike the Chew really want All My Children and One Life to Live to come back, well ain't happening it gone. Now you will see more new show like Dr. Phil or Ellen which is going to be worst than the Chew is. Sad very sad where this network is going. Just go blame Trump for this.

Yes, about time!!! All they do is giggle at each other's jokes and interrupt each other. I stopped watching it.

For those crying over the show getting canned, there's this network called Food Network, try going over there instead of balling your eyes out over such a stupid show as The Chew. By golly, The Chew is just a show, try also growing up.
