The Conners will debut on ABC with no involvement from Roseanne Barr.
June 25, 2018
Less than a month after cancelling the Roseanne revival, ABC has confirmed that a spin-off featuring the rest of the cast will take its place this fall in the 8:00pm Tuesday time slot. The move had been expected for some time, as the network was looking for a way to continue the success of the Roseanne comeback, which impressively became the top comedy on television.
Expected to be called The Conners, the new series will take place following "a sudden turn of events" that will explain the removal of Roseanne from the show. The rest of the family will continue to tackle daily working-class life in Lanford - only in a completely new way.
Expect the feel of the new show to remain mostly the same, as the existing writing and producing team will also transition over to The Conners. ABC has ordered 10 episodes of the show, which is down from the 13 episodes ordered for Season 2 of Roseanne. Look for the premiere later this year.

I boycotted the original Roseanne revival because she is a disgusting person, now and then, remember her butchering the National Anthem and grabbing her crotch at a baseball game. Conservatives have very short memories or is it shes one of yours so she’s excused. But I’m excited for this one. I watched the original Roseanne when I was a teenager. I wonder how they’re going to kill her off.

Nobody will be watching. Even with that, the ratings for this spinoff will probably be higher than any show aired on CNN or MSNBC.

It's sad that Roseanne couldn't stay off twitter and it came off more like a drinking problem than ambien but regardless, I agree with the decision to take her off the air and I am a republican. I will be watching the spin off and I support the cast and they have all been great and deserve this!!!

Sadly, it won't work. It's one thing to replace/write out a support character but the main star and reason people watched? No. It'll be another "* Simple Rules" result when they John Ritter. He had a good support cast, but people tuned in for him.

Yeh - I know Hayes can't possibly be the biological mother of Becky and Darlene because Hayes is younger than her "kids" - it's a second marriage....details!

It should be interesting how they handle the absence of Dan’s "wife" or the absence of ever having an on-screen wife. Death, ran away with a neighbor, or maybe abducted by aliens. I hope that her disappearance is handled better than Kevin James' TV wife (Erinn Hayes) death on his now cancelled show "Kevin Can Wait". I have a suggestion - If you recall, Lecy Goranson played the character Becky on Roseanne. Goranson left the show in 1988 to attend Vassar College. Sarah Chalke took over the role of Becky. The show continued without a hiccup. Bring in the Erinn Hayes as Dan Connors wife. The show will have-a-laugh and continue without a hiccup. Hey, bring in Kevin James in a supporting role.

Who cares? Nobody will be watching. This show will have lower ratings than CNN, if that's even possible. The latest results indicate that even The Food Network has higher ratings than CNN (aka FNN aka Fake News Network)
