The superhero drama will not return for Season 3.

Another hero has fallen at Netflix. The streaming service confirmed this evening that Luke Cage has been cancelled after two seasons. The news comes just one week after fellow superhero drama Iron Fist was given the ax - also after its second season.
The reasons behind the recent moves are unclear, but seem to indicate that Netflix might be looking to taper back on their Marvel-related original content. Remaining active series include Jessica Jones, The Punisher, and Daredevil, which just released its third season today. It is not clear if the Luke Cage or Iron Fist characters will make any appearances in the other shows' upcoming seasons.
Luke Cage followed the titular crime-fighting superhero who uses his superhuman strength to clean up the streets of Harlem.

I have to apologize. Deep down inside am I deeply threatened when a person of color mentions being black. I think the show was great, but my problem is I am not yet emotionally equipped to deal with someone being proud of who they are.

Cw shows are far too whiny. The last 15 minutes of every episode of every show is a you hurt my feelings lets cry about it fest. If I hear Sam cry about dean hurting his feelings one more time I'll lose my mind.

Netflix get your SHIT together, If your going to touch marvel do it right!!!!!! Quality not Quantity. Be smart cancel the shows just make the defenders and get the right writer's for once. Batman isn't marvel but fox is cancelling Gotham soon I'm just saying. Thank God for the CW cause Netflix is just DROPPING the BALL what a SHAME!!!!!!

Pray tell your opinion on Black Panther....
Appreciating a culture and bringing to the fore the issues faced by it within the context of a superhero series is hardly shoving it in someone's face. Sure, LC's writing was bad in terms of the overall plot, but its cultural appreciation was on-point!

Well no KIDDING they cancelled this! Every 5 mins it was I'm black" this and "this is Harlem" that, and "black power" this! When your agenda is shoved in your viewer's faces, and it overpowers the telling of the story, it's going to suffer. They OVER "black-slpoited" it. Horrible story telling+forced skin-color agenda=failure. ALWAYS.

I'm hoping a Heroes for Hire announcement will happen....but won't hold my breath just yet. I can't believe they cancelled this but kept JJ. Luke Cage was right up there with Punisher for me. Love both those series. Really bummed.
