No Season 2 for the rookie dramedy.
November 13, 2018
It is being reported that Netflix has cancelled The Good Cop after its first season. The dramedy premiered on the streaming service in September but ultimately failed to generate a sizeable amount of buzz amid mixed reviews.
The hour-long series starred Tony Danza and Josh Groban as father and son police officers Tony Caruso Sr. and Jr. While Tony Sr. has retired following a history ongoing violations of departmental policy, Tony Jr. is honest to a fault and always follows police procedures. As a way to help his son be the best cop he can be, Tony Sr. becomes his unofficial partner, offering street-wise advice on everything from handling suspects to handling women.

Boo, I liked this what is Netflix looking for? It was funny, and not stupid funny, but actual comedy. Better not see reality TV shows on Netflix

This was a good show. Had a very "monk" feel to it. I think part of the failure is Netflix fault, they didn't advertise this show hardly at all like they do some of the other Netflix Originals. I think people are watching TV way too critically LOL "watching Josh Groban struggle to define his character was painful." Never in my life have I watched a show and thought wow this actor is really struggling to define his character. Understandable if you are a TV critic but not just a casual viewer.

It required better writing, I mean for a short season that it was and already the lead character got duped by a woamn who was wooing him but turned out to be the guitly party, then the dad same thing and then the female partner same thing....lol I mean within 10 seasons sure but 10 episodes.

You mean the world wasn't clamoring for a Josh Groban/Tony Danza-led series?

I turned it off when JR tried to find the owner of a lost quarter,I know he's an honest cop,but that was stupid.

I wanted to like this show, but watching Josh Groban struggle to define his character was painful. I love Josh Groban and think he will eventually find an appropriate role, but this just wasn't it.
Tony was good and came out of the gate strong in his role, others were good, but it felt like they were all trying to prop Groban up...

The most amazing thing about this is that Netflix cancelled a show after 1 season. I think this is only the second time that's ever happened (Girl Boss being the other)
