No Season 6 for the zombie drama.
December 22, 2018
Word is out that Z Nation has been cancelled by Syfy and will end its run after its current fifth season. Executive producer David Michael Latt broke the news to fans with a video message posted on his Twitter account confirming that there will be no Season 6.
Set in a post-zombie apocalypse, Z Nation follows a group of everyday heroes trying to save humanity as they search for a cure for the virus. On the air since 2014, the zombie drama is the longest-running scripted original currently in the cable network's roster.
The show will sign off for good with its series finale, fitting titled "The End of Everything", on December 28.

It's SyFy... what do you expect? Z Nation was always a guilty pleasure. It was never meant to be serious and it pulled off its silly comedy with a style all its own. This show will be missed. Netflix should pick it up then Netflix could have a show worth watching.

I though it was weird that Garth (DJ Qualls) appeared on Supernatural this season. Now it makes sense. The cast probably knew about this in advance and allowed to make other commitments.

I want AMC to revive z nation. AMC could have WD on Fall and spring, Fear WD in summer and Z nation in winter. That would fill the Sunday 8pm cst slot year round. I saw it as a dramaty. 90% drama 10% comedy. I love Docs really stupid line, "puppies and kittens" I think it was. BTW, the plot was the main group was escorting Murphy to cali cause he is the cure. On the way others try to steal him for their own personal payday!!!

Biggest issue is they NEVER embraced anything.. was it a comedy? Was it meant to be ridiculously corny and funny that way??? Was it meant to be taken as a serious drama?? They never settled. So it was like a leaf in teh wind, any episode at any time could be anything. That makes for horrible storytelling.

I never comment but I felt compelled. Jolly & Dave, Z-nation was NEVER meant to be a high quality zombie show. It was meant to be a different take on the genre, and yes, some of it was corny, hell, a lot of it was corny, but I never saw a comedic outlook since the movie Zombieland. The show has definitely struggled to find a storyline that was cohesive, and although I'm upset to see it go, it's a good time to do so. But to have abandoned the show so early on like the 2 of you did, I feel sorry that you didn't get to see those moments that would have made each of you think, I'm such a douche.

I enjoyed the series but I hope that it won't end on a cliffhanger like so many cancelled shows these days.

Hope they give it a real finish, but probably not since it's a blindsided cancellation. The last of my fave shows from when I started regularly watching TV again is gone.

I have watched this show from day one. It began as a cheap knock off of WD but then came into its own, especially with the development of major characters such as Doc, Murphy and Warren. However, all good things must come to an end and this it definitely that time. The story line is becoming increasingly strained as the writers desperately try to come up with new material. It had a good run and I enjoyed it; I very much look forward to the finale.

Book!!! Hissss!!! It was campy and over the top most of the time, but was a nice change of pace from the walking dead.

The show was unwatchable ever since Murphy made his own country/nation a few seasons ago. Good to see its finally cancelled to make room for something new.
