The zombie drama will continue in 2018.
December 15, 2017
Syfy announced today that Z Nation has been renewed for a fifth season. The good news comes on the same day as the zombie drama's Season 4 finale, which aired in a super-sized two-hour block for the first time in the show's history.
Set in a post-zombie apocalypse, Z Nation follows a group of everyday heroes trying to save humanity as they search for a cure for the virus. Now at over 50 total episodes, the series has been a reliable performer for the cable network over the course of its run, regularly ranking as one its top-rated originals.
While no details have been released on what to expect in Season 5, a tweet from executive producer David Michael Latt showed an image stating, "The Reset Begins". Look for Season 5 of Z Nation in the fall of 2018.

Look forward to seeing Lucy rise from the ashes and Addy's return. Got to love The Murphy!

Wahoooooo! Should have kept both this and Dark Matter though. I still mourn the loss of Defiance!

Say what you want about this show, but it is witty and campy to the point that it is entertaining! They need to bring back Addie and they shouldn't have killed off Lucy, but other than that it's a good show.

Too bad. This show has exceeded is sell-by date. Its plot wanders so much that each season barely has any connection to the previous one. I mean, the Murph has gone from reluctant savior of mankind to dictator to just another Z killer. I think he just got tired of all the makeup each day.
At the start of the season I thought SyFy had said this was going to be the last. I guess they're just going to cut the budget more and lose more of the regulars. And it's ridiculous that they try to make eastern Washington state look like the rest of the country.
I'm done.

So cancel Dark Matter, leaving it with one of the biggest cliffhangers ever but renew this show for a 5th season? Man if I were an impulsive person (and didn't like 5 other shows on this channel) I would be outraged and never watch this Syfy again.

I love this show. It is so witty and funny. Also, I know it's hard to believe that with so many zombie movies and shows, that they were able to come up with something new and unique in that genre. There are so many twists and turns that it constantly surprises me at how well they did at making a comedy out of a zombie apocalypse, while also engendering strong feelings and empathy as if it was real. I have even cried at some parts, then a little while later, was laughing. So, it is a must watch and not just for zombie lovers.

Syfy use to have a lot of good shows. Now all they have is crap like this. I wish I could drop the channel and save money.

I liked the newest season better than last. Atleast the main group stayed together (with the exception of one key member) but there are still so many unanswered questions, including where the hell some of these other characters are
