The dramedy will return for Season 2.
January 29, 2019
CBS announced today that God Friended Me has been renewed for a second season. The early pickup, which comes in the midst of the dramedy's debut run, rounds out the network's recent round of freshman pickups that kicked off on Friday.
The hour-long series premiered last fall as part of the network's 2018-2019 lineup. It was only a few weeks later that its episode count was topped up to a full season's worth. The show has been drawing decent viewership, ranking as one of the top new broadcast shows this season, and has improved CBS' time slot performance on Sunday nights. Reviews have been overall mixed, though lean towards the positive.
God Friended Me follows New York podcast host Miles Finer, who is an outspoken atheist. When he randomly receives a friend request from God on Facebook, it starts him down the path of becoming an agent of change in the lives and destinies of people around him.
Look for Season 2 this fall as part of the 2019-2020 television season.

Not relying on sex, murder, and filth to sell it. The writers and actors in this program actually have stand alone talent and skill, and make it happen based on their professionalism.
We love it. Please don't pull it.
In a sense it's kind of a rehash of "Person of Interest". Simply replace the "God Account" with the computer of PoI that each week sends the characters off on a new mission while in the background there's a bigger story arc about just what the omnipotent "God" really is.
And 'worse' and 'garbage' are extremely harsh words. This is well acted and an enjoyable hour of TV that doesn't include guns, violence, blood and all the other stuff that 90% of TV has these days.
It is an entertaining hour that the entire family can watch.
I wish Kevin saves the world would have been renewed, that was another great family TV show.
Those that don't like this should just go away and watch the same old crap they always watch with different names and leave something clean for the rest of us.
Do not give BB another shot. It is a week (real time) of people being dumb (big brother after dark) and then it edited into 3 hours of "strategy." Rinse wash and repeat. It is survivor in a box. Every season is the same.
