No Season 2 for the George R.R. Martin thriller.
February 19, 2019
It is being reported that Syfy has cancelled Nightflyers after just one season. Word comes two months after the show's now-final episode.
A co-production with Netflix, the series premiered in December with a 10-episode run. Its initial prospects appeared promising, arriving with a big-budget production and a story based on George R. R. Martin's 1980 novella of the same name. Critical and viewer response, though, ultimately failed to live up to its lofty aspirations. Reviews were decidedly mixed and ratings ended up on the soft side.
Nightflyers takes place in the year 2093, with a team of scientists aboard an advanced ship called the Nightflyer embarks on a journey to find other life forms. Their mission brings them to the edge of the solar system, but a horror already on their ship will take them to the edge of insanity.

Hard to follow I like to have some time to process what happened each episode over time not just jump back into it the next day.

Damn, this was a decent show.Although the ten eps in a row idea was not a good one. I think it was nit trying to be like alien at all , it is based on a 1980 book after all.

Thank God. I managed to get through the first season thanks to "no doze" and 18 oz cups of espresso. Not sure my heart would survive a season 2

I watched the entire first season but if renewed I don't know that I would have continued. Something was missing; its almost as if it was trying too hard to be another "Alien" type program but just couldn't get there.

I'm not surprised. It looked so promising, but was so hard to follow and for the most part, the characters were unlikable. I hope to see Eoin Macken do something else. I miss Night Shift :'(
