The sci-fi drama will be back for Season 2.

The CW announced today that Roswell, New Mexico has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes just one day after the conclusion of its freshman run, which ultimately garnered mixed reviews.
The sci-fi drama premiered in January as a mid-season entry with somewhat of a familiar name. It is the second TV-adapted series of the 'Roswell High' book series by Melinda Metz; the first being 1999s Roswell, which ran for three seasons on The WB and UPN networks.
Roswell, New Mexico follows jaded biomedical researcher Liz Ortecho, who has recently returned to her hometown and reconnected with her high school crush Max. But Liz is surprised to learn that Max and his siblings are aliens who have spent their lives hiding their otherworldly abilities. And as they grow closer to, it gets harder for Liz to keep the truth from others. But concealing the siblings' true identities is crucial, as a long-running government conspiracy and the politics of fear and hatred put their lives at risk.
Today's renewal comes as The CW is firming up its lineup for next season. A total of 14 scripted series will be returning - with no cancellations for any of its freshman shows.

Great News. I really liked this show even though I thought it would suck. It has some sappy and over the top moments but its a good remake in my opinion. I loved the original show and this one is different and entertaining.

Seriously? I'm stunned that this version of Roswell found an audience. Some of the actors are so annoying to me that I found myself hitting the mute button. I rarely give up on shows, but this one I just couldn't stomach. I finally stopped watching and deleted.

This is a dumb show. The original was better. This and that terrible Charm remake should have been canceled. But whatever, The CW was feeling nice today.

I like this show, but I've been a Jeanine Mason fan since her days on So You Think You Can Dance. It has made me want to check out the original series.

Disappointed. This show has ruined the original series. The original was great ... this show is trash. Politically Correct, LGBTQ compliant show gets renewed not on its merits but on its compliance with Hollyweirds completely skewed view of reality.

Horrible show in my opinion. I watched 2 episodes and it was clearly nothing more than a melodrama with a silly twist thrown in .. a la Twilight.

I like this show. It's kind of soap opera like, but it's entertaining and filled with beautiful people. Worth an hour of my time a week, definitely!

I never saw the original series. But this version is entertaining and I am glad it is coming back.
