The new drama will not return for Season 2.

Word is out that NBC has officially cancelled The Village after one season. The sad news comes the week following the ensemble drama's now-final episode. The series premiered in February as a mid-season entry, airing 13 episodes that ended up drawing mixed reviews and only so-so ratings.
Episodes followed the close-knit residents of a unique apartment building in Brooklyn, which is home to people who have built a bonded family of friends and neighbors. While they would not know each other if not for a shared residence, these people from disparate backgrounds have made their own family with the community around them, while facing their own challenges.

What's the criteria for shows making the cut or not? The system is broken & networks are keeping mediocre shows while canceling quality programs. It is disappointing to say the least. You need a new way of analyzing your programming.

WHY??? Interesting and unique shows get cancelled way too soon!!! I loved this show! It certainly was refreshingly different from all of the dramas that flood networks every evening!!! Once again, NBC gives good shows the ax. Someone should AX the programming executives that make these idiotic decisions!

NBC.. this is why I dont invest my time in your new shows. The best new show since this is us.. and you cant give it a season 2.. yet you gave The Good Place 4 seasons.. when it barely had content to keep me watching through the first season...

So sad. I really enjoyed this one. I was hopeful for a full season. Might another network see the benefit of a show like this? It didn't have people jumping in and out of the sack with each other, which was a welcome change.

This is a sad day NBC made a huge mistake canceling The Village.
Not that it matters I will no longer watch any NBC shows #bringbackthevillage

Very sad! This was a very good, it’s so disappointing that this was cancelled. But let’s put on another game or cooking show. I’m getting tired of watching shows only to have them cancelled after 1 season
