The dramedy will return for Season 2.
June 11, 2019
Netflix announced today that Russian Doll has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes four months following the dramedy's freshman release, which drew a strong amount of praise from both critics and audiences alike.
The series stars Natasha Lyonne as Nadia, a misanthropic young woman on a repeating journey where she dies and relives her 36th birthday party in New York City over and over. A prime candidate for binge-watching, Season 1 consisted of just eight half-hour episodes.
Season 2 of Russian Doll will follow the same format, with another eight episodes planned. Look for a return sometime in 2020.

I enjoyed the first season but the ending was too ambiguous. Ultimately it's hard to come up with a satisfying reason why a time loop was inflicted on these characters.
I can't say I liked the main character the first few episodes but the reasons for her being unlikable were later explained. She showed an impressive amount of smarts towards the end which wasn't evident at the start.
Still, as far as time-loop stories go, I remember one Star Trek Next Gen episode and one Stargate SG-1 episode that both got the to the point a whole lot sooner and in a more interesting way.
I hope the next season is with different characters. The first season wrapped up nicely as far as the two main characters were concerned and there's no reason to do another season with the same characters.

Loved Season 1. Have no idea how they'll do 2nd season, but I'm sure it will be fun.

I enjoyed this show and the opening song. which thankfully was not rap. Rap ruins shows. So lets hope they use it again for taylor. lol. Seriously, the show was a good one about different realities colliding. Pretty good sci fi dramedy.

Yeah, that's gonna be without me, season 1 is really overrated.

It was interesting.. but I absolutely hated that opening song which plays over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over . Hopefully teh new repeat doesn't occur with there's some second rate pop song playing.
