The adventure drama is coming back for Season 2.
June 26, 2019
CBS announced today that Blood & Treasure has been picked up for a second season. The summer adventure drama is seven episodes into its freshman run and has been performing decently for the network on Tuesday nights despite decidely-mixed reviews.
The hour-long series follows a brilliant antiquities expert who teams up with a cunning art thief in order to catch a ruthless terrorist who uses stolen treasure to fund his attacks. As the duo traverses the globe in search of their target, they unwittingly find themselves entrenched in a centuries-old battle for the cradle of civilization.
Look for Season 2 of Blood & Treasure in 2020, likely as a summer entry once again.

Blood & Treasure was VERY hard to get in to, but after several tries, I got hooked. Now I binged it, but I'm still surprised it got picked up. I know a lot of people that gave up when they just couldn't get in to it.
There isn't much on in the summer so at least with B&T, next summer I know what I'll be getting. I'm just glad someone made an Indiana Jones -ish show work for tv.

This is a big surprise as WC had a much better cast with better acting and better storylines... I barely got through the first episode with how poor the acting and romantic non-chemistry was, but I liked seeing all the different locations and the storyline somehow has kept be interested as an off season show, but I think only because there are zero other options around it... I like seeing the occasional familiar face and hope this secret society thing picks up a bit...
At least they can conclude the storyline for S1 and move to something different S2...

I love this show, but doesn't anyone see the similarity between this show and the Indiana Jones movies, even the music is similar?

I think it’s pretty naive in general to think executives don’t see most of the TV shows they gambled on, especially at first. And their opinions of what they see can be one factor in continuation decisions.

It’s a fun clean show. Glad it got renewed. But I wish some of the other good shows were as well. The Kids Are Alright!

@Tim, lol, it’s actually real likely they haven’t seen the show. Renewals are rarely based on quality, it’s about what kind of money the network thinks it will bring based on ratings, costs, etc. This show might suck but there’s enough people watching it despite that.

Unbelievable. Surely the person in charge of renewing shows has never actually watched this show. All the quality shows that got cancelled and this travesty gets renewed????

Can't wait to the next adventure for season 2.

It's a pleasant enough trifle for the summertime. They manage to keep it moving.
But I fear this will be like several other CBS summer series that were designed to last one season like "Salvation" and "Under the Dome" but which then get stretched out into bloated undecipherable messes. At least with this show they can move onto entirely different adventures each season.

Really glad to hear this has been picked up for a second season! I've been following along, but once it's finished this season, I fully intend to go back and binge-watch the whole thing! It's like a season-long Indiana Jones Adventure, complete with Nazis!
