No Season 2 for the military legal drama.
July 23, 2019
It is being reported that CBS has cancelled The Code after its first season. The sad news comes the day after the drama's now-series finale, with its stars taking to social media to express their sadness.
The series premiered in April with a 12-episode run that ultimately garnered mediocre reviews. Ratings weren't much better either, as it struggled to find a sizeable audience on Monday nights.
The Code followed a team made up of some of the military's brightest minds - acting as defense lawyers, prosecutors, and investigators - working at home and abroad on the most-challenging legal cases facing the U.S. Marine Corps.
Thank you to all you wonderful people who watched @TheCodeCBS. Last night was our finale and sadly, no more. I’ll never make General. But I loved this cast of stellar actors & know we’ll meet again. Semper Fidelis. 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/kqjcZBTRzo

Unfortunately it’s true... @TheCodeCBS has come to an end and while I’m disappointed that I don’t get to continue this particular adventure with these stellar humans, I feel very grateful for, and proud of, the show we made. Thank you so much to everyone who watched!! #TheCode 🙏 pic.twitter.com/e8aY3O2qII

The 4 genres i am sick of are Cop, Doctor, Lawyer, and Reality.
I am always happy when a show that fits one of those genres is cancelled.
This show, however, looked like a unHolyweirds idea of what military (generally conservative) life is like. It's hard for the actors and writers to pretend about something they know little about.
Every episode that I watched contained the standard undercurrent of pushing unHolyweirds political agenda.
I won't be missing it.
