The songwriting series will return for Season 2.
September 10, 2019
NBC announced today that Songland has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes as the songwriting series winds down its freshman run, which has performed well for the network over the summer months.
The show premiered in May with a new twist on the music genre. Instead of focusing on finding a star singer, it's the songs themselves and the songwriters behind them that take the spotlight. So far, six songs featured in the show have reached the top of the iTunes music chart.
Songland gives undiscovered songwriters the opportunity to craft the next big hit for some of music's top superstars. These selected up-and-comers collaborate with and are mentored by some of the industry's most-successful producers as they work towards their dream of becoming the next songwriting sensation.
Look for Season 2 of Songland in 2020.

LOVE YOU NBC.
I just REALLY wish the radio would play more of the songs though. I mean really - most are awesome! Heck a lot of the ones that aren't selected are awesome. I added them to my spotify playlist lol
