The veteran comedy is sticking around at NBC.
November 14, 2019
NBC announced today that Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been picked up for an eighth season. The good news comes three months ahead of the cop comedy's Season 7 premiere, which is slated for February 6.
The half-hour series returned to the air earlier this year for its sixth season after being cancelled by Fox in 2018. Now a midseason player, the show is performing well for its new network, with solid linear ratings and a strong presence online. Critical reception continues to be positive as well.
Led by Saturday Night Live alum Andy Samberg, Brooklyn Nine-Nine follows an offbeat group of detectives and staff at the 99th precinct of the New York Police Department. Samberg plays the eclectic Jake Peralta, a talented but immature detective whose carefree style clashes with his stern, by-the-books captain, played by Andre Braugher.
Look for Season 8 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine during the 2020-2021 season.

Beginning seasons were the best but with that being said I don't care for Gina, she was fine in small doses only.

I like the show but how much further can it go?
Hyperbole is dumber. Or as truth said, meta-complaining with out dding anything to the conversation.

There is something dumber, commenting on people who are just giving an opinion I. A nice simple way. If everyone just posted likes we would have no need for comments. Now if the people had been toxic and made post that had nothing to do with this show...
I think the show is starting to age but has a few years left.

Nothing dumber than people complaining about shows they don't like. Hmmm....don't watch them? Perhaps you've heard that there are a "few" other choices? Have someone teach you how to find the hundreds of available shows so you won't be so tortured.

NBC spent some money on this show and wants to make sure they get it back. With will and grace being cancelled, and Good place deciding to end, and AP bio moving online, they have NO comedies left for the 9pm Thursday hour. "Must watch something" TV

I tried to watch the first episode of S1 and did not laugh once. Too many shows out there to invest in a show I thought would not have made it. Oh well.

Ugh, cancel this show already! Every time I see Andy Samberg's face, I want to gouge my eyes out.

While this news is welcome, I'm surprised that it came before Season 7 even debuted.
