Word is out that Anne with an E has been cancelled after three seasons. Creator Moira Walley-Beckett broke the news to her followers on social media, with the news coming the day after the drama aired its now-series finale on CBC in Canada. The show's final season will premiere for stateside viewers January 3 on Netflix.
Adapted from the classic 1908 novel Anne of Green Gables, Anne with an E follows a young orphan girl who has spent an abusive childhood in orphanages. When she is accidentally sent to live with an aging brother and sister in Prince Edward Island, the 13-year-old's unique spirit and wondrous imagination have a transforming impact on their lives and the lives of the residents in the small town where they live.
Beloved fans & friends of #AWAE, I’m sorry for the sad network news today 🧡 I wish it could be different but it cannot. We have reached the end of the red Green Gables road after 3 wonderful seasons. My heart is… https://t.co/IqODF0muzB

Time to save this one!!! in 12 hours there was already over 1 million tweets - lets go go go!!!
I was just thinking today, again, how awesome this TV show is. I was looking forward to the rest.
It was a good ending, I agree. Luckily, at least, one doesn't have to wonder whats next. The books tell us what we want to know, even a quick wiki read helps out a lot.
Thing is, after that quick wiki read, I was truly looking forward to seeing more played out.
The acting in this is amazing Amybeth McNulty plays the part like she was born to do so.
I will miss this show, oddly enough, unlike many others that are cancelled before i wish. I think partly because I know the story and was so looking forward to it playing out by this amazing cast.
