The comedic game show will return for Season 2.

TBS has announced that The Misery Index will be coming back for a second season. The good news arrives as the game show is wrapping up its freshman run, which performed solidly for the cable network.
Jameela Jamil hosts the show, which features two teams, each made up of one contestant with two members of the Impractical Jokers. Teams face off by attempting to rate hilarious and miserable real-life events on a scale of 1-100 based on a ranking system created by therapists.
We're coming back for Season Two and are ready to get more miserable than ever. 😈 #TheMiseryIndex pic.twitter.com/FjODeW6rvb

Jameela was hired for The Good Place (her first real job) due to her accent making her seem pretentious and elitist -- which is exactly what the character there called for. The same accent does not play well when you want a host to seem engaging and approachable -- horrible choice for a host merely due to her accent. She could very well be the most likable, lovely, pleasant, woman one would ever meet.. but the accent doesn't play well to the general public -- especially those engaged in the Joker's comedy shows. It's like serving corn dogs at a 5 star restaurant.. something doesn't fit.

The mechanics of the game are flawed in many ways and could use an overhaul, but I think the Jokers are nice, funny guys and Jameela Jamil is good host.

Quality shows get cancelled, brain dead crap keeps going. And on and on the madness and stupidity goes.

The percentages make no sense. I can't get past the 2nd episode despite the supposed comedians.

Pathetic attempt to give the "Jokers" another show because NONE of them can act and their stage shows are horrible. Impractical Jokers, the TV show can be hilarious at times because it's unscripted for the most part and reactions are natural..... the "Tenderloins" are horribly UNfunny and could never actually get a job.
