Showtime announced today that The L Word: Generation Q has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes with two episodes remaining in the drama's freshman run, which has been reasonably well received since its December premiere.

Acting as a sequel to the groundbreaking 2004 drama The L Word, the series takes place over 10 years later, following returning characters from the original series alongside a new group of diverse LGBTQIA+ individuals experiencing love, setbacks, and success in Los Angeles.

No timeframe has been set for Season 2, though late 2020 or early 2021 appears likely. In the meantime, two episodes remain in Season 1, with the season finale set for January 26.
