No Season 4 for the sequel drama.
March 23, 2023
It is being reported by Deadline that Showtime has cancelled The L Word: Generation Q after three seasons. The news comes two months after the drama wrapped its now-final 10-episode run.
Serving as a sequel to the groundbreaking 2004 drama 'The L Word', the series takes place over 10 years later, following returning characters from the original series alongside a new group of diverse LGBTQIA+ individuals experiencing love, setbacks, and success in Los Angeles.
While the sequel may be over, it is being reported that the franchise could continue in another iteration. Word is that original series creator Ilene Chaiken is working on a possible reboot of 'The L Word' tentatively titled 'The L Word: New York.'

I enjoyed lots of this show. Please send Alice to New York for the new show. Her talk show could move from L.A. to N.Y. easily. P.S. The whole baby storyline hurt season 3. This show did not need this many characters.

after s3 I'm sorry but this is deserved.. original creator coming back and rebooting another L-word so hopefully that is better. S2 was good and then they f*cked it so.. I will miss Dani & Gigi from new cast tho.

I could never vibe with this series. Some of the decisions the characters make were never realistic. This is not how people act IRL, this is not how situations play out IRL, doesn't matter their orientation.
I stopped watching after season 1. I am a lifelong fan of Jennifer Beals but even that could not keep me coming back. Its great it survived for 3 seasons IMO.

I liked the original characters and some of the new ones as well. Of course they left us on cliffhangers. Give us a movie, like Ray Donovan. This is shitty news, but Showtime is going to be swallowed up by Paramount+. 2-3 years from now no one will remember Showtime.

That’s a shame. I preferred the original series but this was still good. They’re fun characters to spend time with
