HBO has no plans to continue the acclaimed series.
January 23, 2020
It looks like we have seen the last of HBO's hit series Watchmen. Creator Damon Lindelof stated recently that he has told the story he intended to tell and has no interest in staying on with the show should it continue.
Following up on Lindelof's sentiment, the cable network's programming chief Casey Bloys said that he could not envision producing another season of the show without Lindelof's involvement. He did leave the door open for a possible future instalment should Lindelof reconsider, but at this point it appears very unlikely that will happen.
Based on the graphic novel of the same name, Watchmen takes place in an alternate contemporary reality, where superheroes are looked upon as outlaws because of their violent approach to peacekeeping. Despite being outcast, some of them gather to start a revolution while others try to stop it before it's too late.

No Blake, it definitely doesn't. And I believe it shares a sentiment with the majority. Myself and myriad friends are tired of the PC BS and the racial aspects of all the shows playing into white guilt and that's a rabbit hole I wish to not go down. I'm in no way a racist or a bigot, but am just tired of that in shows. It's a little antiquated and anachronistic to do some of that stuff to the degrees they go into and tries to make me feel bad for stuff I wasn't involved in. We've all been educated and we've all seen terrible things and should understand how other sides live, but get off the soapbox. Not every show needs it. There's nothing wrong with parables and lessons, but most of us watch shows to escape. Brooklyn Nine-Nine, one of my favorite comedies, did a racial episode. I just didn't think it was necessary, but they're the creative ones. I'm not here to pontificate, just opine. I don't think I'm an outlier on this issue.

Another show that could have been great but instead was ruined by the pc/sjws soapbox. Nor do I think this comment makes me a racist.

So what if it did not "go exactly like the original"!!! True Blood was highly successful and if you read the books, the series went off "script" from the first episode of the first season. I'm sick of same old same old crap so anything different is refreshing. Whatevs!

Saw the first episode and that was enough for me. This was totally boring and nothing to do with the original comic books.

It's amazing how you can tell who the racist people are who comment on here clearly from their posts. "Uh - Oh another show talking about racism that doesn't exist" Must be SJW's. Anyway, with that said. After watching the season you do get the feeling like what was the point. To me it's like why did they even bother.

This was unlike many shows on tv. I like superhero tv shows a lot. except "the boys' which was not for me and a version of villains who were accepted as heroes basically. But this one was well done if you gave it time.

Watchmen in name only! This show had absolutely no connection to the original comic book or the movie. The suits had the good sense to cancel this preposterous creation. It would have worked if the creators had adhered to the original material and were true to the story and its characters. The "Watchman" was simply another vehicle hijacked by SJW writers to make a political and social statement. That's what makes THIS show slow and boring without any entertainment value!

I really loved the first season and would be open for more but I’m fine with it being standalone. They told a complete story more or less.
