No Season 2 for the crime drama.
April 3, 2020
Word is out this evening that Fox has cancelled Deputy after just one season. The sad news comes eight days after the western crime procedural wrapped its 13-episode freshman run, which ended up ranking as one of the network's lowest-rated dramas of the season.
The series starred Stephen Dorff as Bill Hollister, a fifth-generation lawman in Los Angeles, who is thrust into the Sheriff's job after the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department loses its elected Sheriff. While not exactly the job he wanted due to the politics involved, he soon learns that following his instincts to pursue justice at all costs is only skill required to get the job done.

I Enjoyed the show but knew that it would be cancelled. I guess they will replace it with something else with Gordan Ramsay in it.

Manifest, Roswell, and The Magicians were NOT "good" shows. They were written for young adults... if that's your maturity level, then okay.. but calling them "good" is incorrect.

Wow this show had lots of comments. I'm so sick and tired of people bringing politics into everything. Hey people how about things are just good or bad because of the quality not it's political POV if it even has one. And I bet this show had nothing to do with politics. But I wouldn't know because this show was so BAD. This is the prime example of what a TV show shouldn't be. If you liked this show then you are stuck in the 60s abd 70s where this would have been a good show. It's 2020 and this show was just horrible bad. If you watched passed the first scene then you watched too much and you have horrible taste in programs. Well hopefully you who liked the show can get your wish and get a streaming service for horrible TV shows and you can watch all you like.

They gave you a full season , I disagree you are idiots to complain about losing your show. you loved it so complain away. that doesn't mean you don't give other shows a chance on that network though. but I think it is hard for a show to last these days. Even hit ones like Better call saul. which is written so well can only last so long sad to say. however some shows have their leads cancel them , not because of ratings. Arrow , supernatural, Hawaii five o. all are cases of the leads calling it quits. This one never found a audience, which most new shows don't. I thought the cool kids was a great show and it had decent ratings at first but. . If you want a great cop show get amazon primes bosch , they also have the expanse, and goliath , which only gets one more season for some reason. and the midseason shows like manifest , roswell, magicians (ended), are good investments for a network. Great shows by the way. SO things changed programming wise is many ways.

Some of you people are complete idiots.. One season IS giving a show "a chance". Are you expecting them to pay for 2 or 3 seasons in the hopes more people may like a poorly written, stale premised, trite, repetitive show?? You seem to forget the entire point of television on ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX is to MAKE MONEY by getting you to watch 1hr of television which contains 28 minutes of advertising... not necessarily to entertain you.

At least Fox gave this show a chance. They didn't have to give it a full season. That was nice of them. Way to go Fox. I guess some people didn't like it. I watch new shows even though they might get canned because I understand that's how shows work. If everyone waited all new shows would be canned right away. You gotta take that chance if you wanna see anything new.

Watched the first episode it was poorly written not even close to how real police work is done. He gets into a shoot out and he's not put on leave or gets questioned by anyone? I really wanted to like it just could not.

Would you watch a new series if you knew beforehand that it would be cancelled after a FULL SEASON!? Only if it starred your favorite actor, maybe. Of course not. This is not taking into account shows that are planned to be only one season, of course. It’s things that get cancelled, cancelled while still infants. I love the complaining. I love it that people like what they watch enough to scream about it! Less if I hate the show, but so what. It would be terrible if we all thought alike. Why even get into this comment section if you are so damn self-anointed reserved mature. I say, let it rip. Don’t hold back lest the drolls!
