No Season 2 for the drama reboot.
April 17, 2020
It is being reported that Freeform has cancelled Party of Five after just one season. The sad news comes less than two months after the family drama finished its 10-episode freshman outing.
The show was a reboot of the acclaimed 1990s Fox series of the same name that ran for six seasons. Structured in a similar manner with a modern-day take on its family situation, the new Party of Five received generally-positive reviews, but like the original, suffered from lacklustre ratings.
The series follows a family of five children as they deal with life's daily struggles after their parents are unexpectedly deported to Mexico. Left to fend for themselves the moment they said goodbye to their mother and father at an immigration detention center, the kids must fight through adversity and find a way to function as a family unit.

Nope - I wouldn't say "zero" discussion, but unfortunately I find that shows around certain topics (like this, for example) do attract more political viewpoints. But even in this thread there are some discussing the show. I just ignore certain posts :)
I, for one, was interested in this show because I used to watch the original. I didn't get to check this one out yet though, and now that it's cancelled I won't need to start catching up.

I'm convinced these comment sections should be disabled. There's zero discussion of the actual show and just griping and dumb political arguments.

It's funny how someone gets so angry over someone else's comment that they pretend to be them so they can change what they commented, just to make themselves feel better. Get out of your feelings. They're idiots, why do you care what they post? Oh that's right, Because it's all about your FEELINGS, that's why. You're A Typical Snowflake.

I had a feeling about this one. See what happens when you do a re-boot? Give us something different.

I think in a way you might be right about going broke by being "woke," but again, I think it's because we're all Black males who are angry and defensive when our racism is pointed out to us. That's why we stick to shows like Empire where we can live in a fantasy bubble and pretend things are not changing in the world. I'm not liberal because if I see another worldview I'll begin losing my welfare which is the color of my skin while I hide behind the idea of a "Black Nation."

Sorry guys... I was being a hateful libbie, and have now come to my senses. Please accept my most sincere apologies.
You guys are absolutely correct. Hollywood is totally out of control with the leftie agenda.

@Keith, @Vendetta : I think in a way you might be right about going broke by being "woke," but again, I think it's because we're all white males who are angry and defensive when our racism is pointed out to us. That's why we stick to shows like Blue Bloods where we can live in a fantasy bubble and pretend things are not changing in the world. I'm not liberal because if I see another worldview I'll begin losing my currency which is the color of my skin while I hide behind the idea of a "sovereign nation."

I posted a spiteful comment on here before, but truthfully I hated to see the show go so quickly. I am having a hard time adjusting to a society that is changing so rapidly.

Good riddance to another lefty attempt to try to shove their view of the world down our throats.
