No Season 2 for the drama reboot.
April 17, 2020
It is being reported that Freeform has cancelled Party of Five after just one season. The sad news comes less than two months after the family drama finished its 10-episode freshman outing.
The show was a reboot of the acclaimed 1990s Fox series of the same name that ran for six seasons. Structured in a similar manner with a modern-day take on its family situation, the new Party of Five received generally-positive reviews, but like the original, suffered from lacklustre ratings.
The series follows a family of five children as they deal with life's daily struggles after their parents are unexpectedly deported to Mexico. Left to fend for themselves the moment they said goodbye to their mother and father at an immigration detention center, the kids must fight through adversity and find a way to function as a family unit.

Why not just create a new show? Why should people invest in something that's already been done and not well. Oh and for those of you that like Charmed and ODAT, Lets see how long Charmed lasts, and ODAT is on a channel no one has. Hey if you like bad television you are welcome to watch it. It's the one thing about being free to choose. While your taste is horrible, I agree with your right to watch it.

Why do all the good shows get cancelled? I really enjoyed this show and was really looking forward to seeing what happens in season 2! I honestly don't know why new shows are even made anymore, they just get people sucked in then get cancelled anyway!

@Nathan I never saw the show either but the show was cancelled so I think that justifys the comments of the haters.
I hate it myself when they make these new remakes with the PC angles most don't work the only ones I watch are Charmed and Roswell New Mexico.
Bring back the old gross out style stuff well better than this new PC crap

I never saw the show, but some of the comments here are moronic and I worry for your families.

What a SHOCK!!!!! This is what happens when a show tries to preach a false narrative and shove political correctness with "woke" social justice wing-nuts (not deserving the name "Warrior") as writers and show-runners. The show was a pile of drivel trying to play on peoples emotions and thankfully it did not work. As much as Hollywood wants to believe that they are like us, they are not, they live in bubbles away from normal everyday people.
I think the show could have worked if it did not preach, but instead turned the premise into the family trying to navigate the broken immigration system while trying to fix the system like normal everyday people try to do by forcing our useless politicians to do their job and fix it with a clear, non-exhausting path to US citizenship. A sovereign country NEEDS immigration laws in order to remain a sovereign country.

"Party of Cinco" a failure... go figure.
Quit it with the wokeness, social justice, liberalism being forced down peoples neck, and you might get a show that's worth something.

I’m a little disappointed- really liked the reboot and the characters. They should of gave it second season. Now a days there quick to cancel everything that’s why no one wants to invest in a show anymore..

Well Raylan and others I watched the entire series and I really liked it, I also love one day at a time which may have been canceled but was brought back by pop so it is working for some of us. I agree about Charmed though, I love the original and didn’t like the current one

Too much preaching is a bad thing. Unless it's done in a fun way like on the really cool tv series doom patrol. which has a meta powered street that is gender free. because it's a living STREET. that show is a blast. Now this one? oh well the original was good imo. But I disagree that the new charmed is bad. IT's good actually and it's really got interesting villains and such. So it's successful . The original charmed was a hit show though that lasted for 178 episodes. that's impressive.
