No Season 2 for the drama reboot.
April 17, 2020
It is being reported that Freeform has cancelled Party of Five after just one season. The sad news comes less than two months after the family drama finished its 10-episode freshman outing.
The show was a reboot of the acclaimed 1990s Fox series of the same name that ran for six seasons. Structured in a similar manner with a modern-day take on its family situation, the new Party of Five received generally-positive reviews, but like the original, suffered from lacklustre ratings.
The series follows a family of five children as they deal with life's daily struggles after their parents are unexpectedly deported to Mexico. Left to fend for themselves the moment they said goodbye to their mother and father at an immigration detention center, the kids must fight through adversity and find a way to function as a family unit.

I am not surprised tbh. I heard about the general plot of this and knew it was some woke social justice garbage. This woke garbage never keeps an audience. They need to just stop with revivals, recreations, reboots, etc and create their own shows instead of relying on the nostalgia of a known title.
This show could've stood on its own with its own title instead of using the Party of Five title. A lot of these reboots are an insult to the original, like Charmed.

I never watched the original, but I see a lot of remakes that are trying to change the narrative by making the characters a different ethnicity. I mean why. I'm black so why not just make a new show with a strong story plot and use the ethnic actors you want. Why try to re-hash something in that way. It didn't work for the Honeymooners, it's not working for One Day At a Time, Charm is a train wreck and you can now throw this on the pile. Just make something original and that way people won't compare it to something else and be disappointed.

Shocking. Take a very good show and remake it while shoving political correctness down our throats and nobody watches. Just shocking.

To be honest I liked it. It was different from the original. The actors were good and the storyline was intrigued. I’m disappointed! Was hoping for it to be renewed

Why do they keep trying these "revivals"?? They almost never last. Seems like a complete waste of time. Anyone interested in the original show has MOVED ON WITH LIFE. Network execs should too... fire the 50-60 year old writers and bring in some new talent already!

I agree with Raylan. I watched two episodes and it sadly just wasn’t good

Anyone who sat through any part of that train wreck isn't sad about it being cancelled
