The UFO investigation drama will not return for Season 3.
May 7, 2020
It is being reported that History has cancelled Project Blue Book after two seasons. The sad news comes six weeks after the drama's sophomore finale, which now acts as its series ender and unfortunately leaves the story unresolved.
Based on real-life top-secret investigation files, the series follows brilliant college professor Dr. J. Allen Hynek, who is recruited by the U.S. Air Force in 1952 to lead a clandestine operation that researches cases of UFO-related phenomena. Together with Air Force Captain Ed Ruppelt, the two face the prospect that Earth may be being visited and that they could be pawns in a nationwide disinformation operation.
Along with Project Blue Book, History has also cancelled Knightfall. This leaves the cable network with no ongoing scripted fare, as its last remaining series, Vikings, is currently in its final season.

This is bs! Project Blue Book was a great show! I'm really upset it got cancelled. It's one of the few shows I watched live. Most stuff I just stream but not this one. Nothing worth watching on the History channel now.

Would have done better if they'd have focused on the real Dr. Hynek.

Bummed! Can't believe they cancelled this series. So much more could have been done and enjoyed by us fans.

Gosh, Darn and other exclamations designed not to trip the wires of the profanities filter, I really enjoyed the show and I would like to mirror the sentiments of many others here in their dissappointment at the cancelation of this entertaining show.

Well ed. You do realize that this was a drama show and not a action show right? . Too many video games? studies show that if you play them too much , you get a damaged brain that cannot follow plots unless things blow up. This is why you MUST limit video games to prevent vidiots from being created. Not saying you are one but...

Another good show cancelled way too soon, they don’t even get the option to tie up loose ends.

Very disappointed about it being canceled. The choices left to watch is getting fewer and fewer.

I met Dr. Hynek in 1984 he was still investigating UFO many years after the USAF stopped Blue Book.
I never am disappointed how cable seems to mistreet its audiences by cancelling a show after a major cliffhanger. Although I was aware of what they were going with the ending it always seems decent shows that are well written don't seem tohzve a chance. ABC does the same thing with their shows the cancel them seemingly out of the blue. To bad Blue Book it suffering the same fate.
