Fox announced today that The Resident will be returning for a fourth season. The good news comes as no surprise, as the medical drama has continued to be a solid performer for the network.
The Resident stars Matt Czuchry as a senior resident and Emily VanCamp as a nurse practitioner at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital. The series brings to light the hard truths about modern-day medicine - both good and bad. Some lives are saved while others are lost, but expectations are always be shattered.
Look for Season 4 of The Resident as part of the network's midseason lineup in 2020-2021.

I love this show. I love the cast. Most of the writing is well done. It is a little soapy in terms of the "big bad" from 1 season reforming somewhat with a new, negative character sliding into the slot. Regardless, as long as it makes sense for the characters then I'm ok with that. Now I just hope it doesn't go off the rails as so many shows seem to when they hit season 5-ish.

About time! Took them long enough to announce it! Glad it’s getting a 4th season tho! One of my favorite shows on tv!
