Fox announced today that The Resident has been renewed for a sixth season. The good news comes the day before the medical drama's current season finale, which will wrap another solid run that saw it remain as one of the network's top scripted originals.
The Resident stars Matt Czuchry as a senior medical resident at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital. The series brings to light the hard truths about modern-day medicine - both good and bad. Some lives are saved while others are lost, but expectations are always be shattered.
When The Resident returns for Season 6 this fall, it will surpass the 100-episode milestone.

They need to move this show to NBC so they can work the same magic the did for Magnum PI Fox does not want to keep shows we actually like watching!

2-3 for family practice, up to 7 for a specialized surgeon.

Unexpected. Bizarre and hard to follow time jumps are usually the kiss of death.
