No Season 2 for the musical drama.
July 2, 2020
It is being reported that The CW has cancelled Katy Keene after one season. The sad news comes less than two months after the Riverdale spin-off concluded its freshman run. There may be hope for its future though, as Warner Bros. Television is said to be looking to find a new home for the musical drama.
Based on the Archie Comics character of the same name, Katy Keene follows the titular aspiring fashion designer who creates clothes for her all her friends. Her roommate Josie is an up-and-coming singer looking for her big break. Together with their friends, they are chasing their dreams in the big city of New York.

I adored this show. It wasn’t given the chance to shine that it should’ve been given. The fact that it was cancelled during all our world faces at present is kind of a slap in the face. It represents diversity and inclusiveness, which is so needed in society and especially in Hollywood, now more than ever. I hope it’s picked up elsewhere where it has a chance to truly dazzle.

No shock but will probably end up on Netflix since they air Riverdale (after CW is finished with their season) and Sabrina. I wouldn't miss this one though. Send Josie back home to Riverdale, let Katie be a recurring character.

Not surprised. I watched this show and couldn't determine if I liked it or not. I mainly watched to see Lucy Hale in a different role. She can't catch a break in roles since Pretty Little Liars.
