The superhero drama will return for Season 2.
July 6, 2020
It was announced today that Stargirl has been picked up for a second season on The CW. The good news comes seven episodes into the superhero drama's freshman run, which is slated conclude in early August.
There will be a slight network change for Season 2, though. While in its current season new episodes debut on the DC Universe streaming service before airing on The CW the following day, for Season 2 the series will be exclusive to The CW.
Based on the DC Comics superhero, Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore, who moves to Blue Valley, Nebraska after her mother remarries. After discovering a powerful cosmic staff, Courtney becomes Stargirl and goes on to inspire a group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past
Look for Season 2 of Stargirl in 2021.

So far this series has not disappointed. Every episode just breezes by. When I first tuned in I expected another bland DC universe CW show that I would turn off after the first ten minutes. But the first ten minutes packed more into it than most shows do their entire first season.
Characters are complex and their motivations are not simply good or simply evil. There's the sense that any of them could die at any moment or that the series could change directions in a blink of an eye.

batwoman is based on the comic books series of the zero's not the character batgirl. it actually is very close to the comic books in tone and stories. THe only problem is that many have never read them and expect batgirl. that is NOT the story and the ratings were fine for bw. The lead actress was slammed most unfairly. they ever called her straight!. She is not. So she is glad to get rid of that show probably. SO it wasn't a bad show, it was like the comics which few viewers read so they hate this series.

I had the whole season saved up so far on my DVR and decided to finally get it a try the other day. I ended up binging the whole season that’s been released to this point. It’s just a really fun, really enjoyable show. It’s already up there with Legends as my favorite CW DC shows, after the Flash.
I’ve been a fan of what I’ve seen so far.

If you are a fan of the jsa this show is sooo good. It is a teen prientated show however it is one of the best shows to ever feature supervillians ever. The villains have families that they care about, however they kill people including a teen, the mean girl from school is a killer who beats up stargirl. Seriously if ypu do not see how rare this show is then you have not been following super shows long.

I know what your point is, just don't know if I'd make it that way. Realistically the bad shows will kill themselves off. Batgirl was a horrible idea and that appears to be dying. We'll see how it goes with the new Batgirl actor but I don't think the show was getting much traction to begin with. The stories are lacking. And the Arrow and The Canaries IMHO is going to be DOA. This should have never been greenlit and I don't think this will have a long shelf life but it is the CW we're talking about.
But Stargirl, I mean it's just their teen version. It's what CW does with all their shows that are successful. They make one for teens and Stargirl is it. It's a bit too teeny for me, but it's ok. I think the super hero days are going to be numbered for the CW anyway when it's all said and done.

meh... s'okay. A bit too "on the nose" and predictable. But we'll see how it plays out.. if they end up with a battle at prom.. yeah.. it'll be sad.

As long as they keep the smooching couples scenes to a minimum, I'm in.
It does have wacky sense of humor.
