It is being reported that The Bear will be ending after its its upcoming fifth season. While nothing official has come from FX or Hulu, recurring guest star Jamie Lee Curtis recently took to Instagram following the filming of Season 5, seemingly indicating that the acclaimed show is indeed wrapping up.
"FINISHED STRONG! Surrounded by an extraordinary crew and group of writers and producers and scene partners on the show that Chris Storer created, completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with," wrote Curtis.
The series follows Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto, a young chef from the fine dining world who moves back to Chicago to run his family's restaurant after a death in the family. Out of his comfort zone, Carmy must grapple with the loss of his brother while balancing small business ownership, his stubborn kitchen staff, and his strained family relationships.

Exact same for me. Watched a few episodes into season 1 but couldn't get into it.

Season one and two.. absolutely fantastic. Both seasons were a great watch.
Season Three... utter shit. Paced slower than a snail and completely condescending and insulting to viewers. Show runners might as well splashed a big "FUCK YOU! VIEWERS DON'T MATTER." across every episode.
Season four.... boring and forgettable... but not insulting. So, I guess that's progress after season three?
They completely "lost the thread" at season three when some show runner thought what audiences were viewing due the characters was more about being a chefs and the industry surrounding that career. Season three dug a HUGE gaping hole... and the show has not recovered from that misguided, pretentious, asshole-centric, season. I mean the random unknown chef headshots in season 3..CLEARLY someone didn't understand the show audiences were viewing. And they tried to get back to things with season 4.. but the hole is so deep.. I don't think it CAN recover now.
I only watched season 4 to see if it was as condescending, pretentious, and repetitive as season 3. It wasn't.. but it also wasn't very interesting. And was nowhere close to seasons one and two. (Watched S04 while working on other things, not attentively because there was no need - the show is dreadfully SLOW now. Plot points are few and far between.)
I imagine season five will be all about how great chefs are and how they "heal the world".... because someone behind the show is utterly delusional.
I'm honestly shocked this got picked up after the insulting season three. Season three made me want to punch someone in the face.
Doubt I'll bother with season five. In all probability it won't be written for viewers. Chances are it'll be self-indulgent, if not insulting, and pointless.

I think it's a good time to end it. The first season was by far the best. The others have been hit or miss, so I couldn't really see it going much longer anyways.

I enjoyed parts of it, and there were other parts that were super slow.
Not sad to see it ending

All the awards for season 1... then people realized the show had nothing left. Honestly if you can't get into season 1 you won't like the others. Season 1 was the best it had. No the only good thing it had.

I only watched a few episodes of S1 and could not get into it. With all of the praise and awards I think I need to give it another chance.
