The superhero drama's current season will be its last.

It was announced today that the current third season of Stargirl will be its last. While there was no word that the superhero drama would be ending when Season 3 premiered in August, today's news is no surprise. Nexstar Media Group has recently acquired The CW network, which has resulted in most of its scripted originals ending or being cancelled.
Based on the DC Comics superhero, Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore, who moves to Blue Valley, Nebraska after her mother remarries. After discovering a powerful cosmic staff, Courtney becomes Stargirl and goes on to inspire a group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past.
"Stargirl has always held a special place in my heart for many reasons," creator Geoff Johns said in a statement. "With all the brewing changes at the network, we were aware this was possibly the last season, so we wrote with that in mind and have delivered what I believe to be the best season of Stargirl yet, with complete creative closure. The cast and crew are extraordinary, and I'd like to thank them for helping me bring this series to life. Brec embodied Courtney in every way possible — with grace, strength and humor — exceeding my wildest expectations. I am grateful to WBTV and The CW for giving us a home to tell this story and to honor my beloved late sister, and I'm beyond thankful to the press and fans who have always championed us for three amazing seasons. Most series never get this far. We couldn't be more proud of our show and the fan community it's built!"
If Stargirl taught me anything, it’s to believe in Destiny. Everything happens for a reason. Feeling a lot of things, but more than anything, feeling gratitude for these past four years. Thank you everyone. Thank you Stargirl 💛💫 https://t.co/GonJdyyDm6

Season two was just more of the standard CW fare toned down for teens. I hate to see the CW go, but I won't be missing this show much.
My idea would be about naked thirty-something influencers that are urban ornithology enthusiasts living in Central Park. But can't have any technology except an old photo camera that uses film. They can't leave the park, have any latté's, or fancy food. Only s'mores and nutella on dry bread, and only unpasteurized goatmilk to drink. They'll have geofence collars. They must stay there for 2 months. And the winner will be the one that takes the best picture. But after the stay, they'll first have to find some store to develop their pictures. Maybe they survive, maybe not.
Just like the shows we invest time and interest in before these morons kill them of. Brec is comforting, but I'm here for Amy and Joy every night. Love to see their nervous friend-ish scenes.
RIP
