The drama will return for Season 2.
July 22, 2020
HBO announced today that Perry Mason has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes five weeks into the drama's eight-episode freshman run, which has gotten off to a solid start.
The show debuted on June 21 as the cable network's most-watched series premiere in almost two years. Critics have been enjoying it as well, with an overall positive reception of the storytelling, directing, and cast.
Based on the famed criminal defense lawyer from the novels of the same name, Perry Mason follows his early days as a struggling private investigator in 1931 Los Angeles. After landing the case of the decade involving a kidnapping that goes wrong, Mason's relentless pursuit of the truth reveals a fractured city and a possible road to self-redemption.

HBO now says it's coming in 2023. That's quite the wait, but then again HBO does do that with some of their shows.

Definitely not dead. They're still making casting announcements as of today. Looks like it's definitely coming.

I wouldn't say it's dead yet. Some shows have taken longer to return due to the pandemic. Hopefully there will be some news on it by the end of the year.

I looked for season 2 in 2021 ... didn't see it. Any new news on this as of June 2022? Seems like it's probably dead.

Slow start, but seven episodes in and I am hooked. Solid acting from Juliet Rylance, Shea Whigham, et all. Matthew Rhys is always good.
