Disney Channel announced today that Secrets of Sulphur Springs has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes just over a month after the mystery-adventure series wrapped its freshman run.

The show's 11 episodes performed well for the network. A total of 8.4 million viewers have tuned in since its January premiere, and it ranked #1 among girls 6-11. On DisneyNow, it's currently the top live-action series.

Secrets of Sulphur Springs follows 12-year-old Griffin Campbell, whose world is turned upside down after his father moves his family from Chicago to the town of Sulphur Springs, Louisiana to take ownership of an abandoned hotel known as The Tremont. After hearing that the hotel might be haunted by the ghost of a girl who disappeared decades ago, Griffin and his friend Harper set out to solve the mystery of what happened to her. This leads them to a portal that lets them travel back in time, where they learn that the secret to solving the mystery is meeting Griffin's own father.

Season 2, which begins production this summer, will look deeper into Harper's family history and their connection to the hotel. Their fact-finding mission will become a high-stakes adventure that could change their friendship forever. Look for a premiere in 2022.
