Apple TV announced today that Slow Horses has been renewed for Season 8. The pickup is another early one for the acclaimed spy drama, coming the day before it returns for its sixth season.
"'Slow Horses' continues to charm audiences all around the world and I'm delighted that Jackson Lamb and his gang of lovable misfits will be back for an eighth season," said Jay Hunt, creative director, International, Apple TV. "Their acerbic take on the high-octane world of espionage is completely unique."
Since its premiere in 2022, the series has garnered high praise from both viewers and critics for each of its seasons to date. Based on the 2010 novel series 'Slough House' by Mick Herron, the show follows a group of British intelligence agents who have been exiled to an administrative dumping ground department of MI5. Led by their brilliant but miserable leader Jackson Lamb, the employees navigate the espionage world's smoke and mirrors to defend England from sinister forces.
Season 8 of Slow Horses will be based on "Clown Town," the ninth book in the series. It will see Jackson Lamb and Diana Taverner face off in their most explosive confrontation yet. When a botched attempt to blackmail the Park puts Taverner on the offensive, it is up to Lamb to unravel one of MI5's darkest secrets and put an end to it once and for all.
