The CW announced today that Kung Fu has been renewed for a second season. The good news comes four episodes into the martial arts drama's run, which as gotten off to a solid start since its April premiere.

Through its first month on the air, the series has been garnering healthy viewership and generally positive reviews. Its debut episode has been watched by over 3.5 million people, making it the network's most-watched Wednesday premiere since 'The 100' in 2014.

Adapted from the 1970s drama of the same name, Kung Fu follows a young Chinese-American woman named Nicky, who decides to drop out of college and embark on a life-altering journey to an isolated monastery in China. But when she returns home to San Francisco, she finds that it has become overrun by crime and corruption, with her own parents at the mercy of a powerful triad. With help from her family and friends, Nicky uses her martial arts training and Shaolin values to protect her community and bring criminals to justice - all while searching for the ruthless assassin who killed her mentor and is now coming after her.

Look for Season 2 of Kung Fu as part of the 2021-2022 television season.
