The comedy will be back for Season 2.
May 10, 2021
Fox announced today that Call Me Kat has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes just over a month after the Mayim Bialik comedy wrapped its freshman run, which ended up drawing mixed reviews. Viewership was strong though, as it ranked as one of the season's top new comedies.
The half-hour series stars Bialik as a 39-year-old single woman who struggles every day against society to prove that she can live a fulfilling life on her own. Which is why she spent all her savings to open a cat café in Louisville, Kentucky. But her plans for independence hit a snag when her former crush and good friend returns to town and works as a bartender at the piano bar across the street.
Today's renewal comes with word that showrunner Darlene Hunt will be stepping down moving forward, with a replacement yet to be named. Look for Season 2 of Call Me Kat as part of the 2021-2022 television season.

I watched one episode expecting to hate this show, but I came around to liking it. The idea of a "cat cafe" didn't appeal to me, but the characters did. The shows are done with style, all the way to the cast waving goodbye at the end. I also didn't know that Mayim Bialik was nearly as musical and talented as she is, she was wasting her talents on "The Big Bang Theory".

I absolutely love Leslie Jordan. Loved him in The Cool Kids and was sad to see that one go. So glad this one got picked up.

Seriously? This has to be one of the WORST sitcoms to air in over 20 years.

After watching the first episode, I wasn't quite sure how to feel about it...but then week after week I kept watching...and laughing. The format of the show actually really grew on me and I really think the cast has great chemistry! So happy Fox picked this up for a 2nd season!!
