Fox announced today that Call Me Kat has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes just over a month after the Mayim Bialik comedy wrapped its freshman run, which ended up drawing mixed reviews. Viewership was strong though, as it ranked as one of the season's top new comedies.
The half-hour series stars Bialik as a 39-year-old single woman who struggles every day against society to prove that she can live a fulfilling life on her own. Which is why she spent all her savings to open a cat café in Louisville, Kentucky. But her plans for independence hit a snag when her former crush and good friend returns to town and works as a bartender at the piano bar across the street.
Today's renewal comes with word that showrunner Darlene Hunt will be stepping down moving forward, with a replacement yet to be named. Look for Season 2 of Call Me Kat as part of the 2021-2022 television season.

Seriously smh this show is horrible and better shows have been canceled. What is wrong with the network. Can’t even sit through a full episode. Horrible and it’s a shame I love Mayim Bialik and she’s a good actor.

Show at times was cringeworthy but a good wholesome show in most aspects. I'm glad it got a second season but it should get no more seasons after they resolve the cliffhanger. Also The Prodigal Son was decent but had two seasons and I'm all set on that show.

FOX just doesn’t get it! This show is so cringeworthy it’s not even funny. Good grief! The waving at the end as someone mentioned is the dumbest thing I have ever seen and I only know they wave because I get it on the recording of one of the shows I do watch and it spills over. I was silently rooting for this show to be cancelled. Here’s to hoping season 2 is it’s last.

I am in shock!!! I have always been a Mayim Bialik fan but this show is the worst so called comedy that I have seen in recent years and I have watched some bad ones. It comes across as a high school play gone wrong and they are begging their friends and family for a few laughs. Then the waving at the end is excruciating to watch. I was hoping that this would be cancelled so maybe Mayim Bialik would get picked up by a decent show worth watching. I will NOT be watching season 2....ugh.
