No Season 2 for the Erin Brockovich-inspired drama.
May 14, 2021
It is being reported that ABC has cancelled Rebel after just one season. The sad news comes five episodes into the drama's freshman run, which has garnered mixed reviews while struggling to find a sizeable audience.
Inspired by the life of Erin Brockovich, the hour-long series follows Annie 'Rebel' Bello, a legal advocate working without a law degree. She's brilliant, messy, and fearless - and cares deeply about the causes she believes in and the people she loves. When Rebel dedicates herself to a fight she believes in, she makes it her mission to win at almost any cost.
Rebel still has five episodes remaining before it finishes out season. The shows series finale should air in mid-to-late June.

What the heck? This is a decent show w a strong females and you cancel it without giving it a chance? ABC wake up. Strong women need a place on TV.

Shane some good male leads but main female character was too loud and outrageous. I deleted it after first Episode.

I love how some people who comment are trying to social justice why this show got cancelled. Maybe it's time for you to realize some shows get cancelled because they suck.

I love Katey
But my God stop pushing inclusion in every single aspect, it jyst makes no sense.
Watch 30 mins of the 1st episode and then stopped. The daughters were very annoying too.

Not a big surprise. The pushing of this show was over-the-top, which spelled disaster for me. Like Katey Segal, but not in this role - way too loud, brash and just unlike able. Once the first episode and that was enough.
Networks! Wake up or you’ll find yourselves with NO viewers at all.

The commercials alone had me convinced this was going to happen.

To be honest, I expected this after the first episode. Watched it because of Katey and I do like it. But I understand that it gets no traction with viewers. It isn't a clear cut drama because of all the comedy elements. It is also not funny enough to be a comedy. And it shouldn't with a topic like that.
So it tries too much to pull in viewers from different angles. Maybe if they had focused on the dramatic aspects it could have survived. Acting wasn't bad, I liked seeing Katey again.

Good show bad timeslot!!! Goes to show u leadins don't always work. Its a G version of Magnum pi without the action! Waiting till a summer debut might have saved it. Oh well, I can hold an extra auto record slot for another show. By the way Mike, u must not be into syfy after your comment on Debris and Manifest, which are very interesting shows!!!
