The dark comedy has been picked up for a second season.
August 27, 2021
AMC announced today that Kevin Can F**k Himself has been renewed for Season 2. The news comes less than a month after the dark comedy concluded its eight-episode freshman run, which was generally well-received by both audiences and critics.
The series follows Allison McRoberts, a woman filling the role of a prototypical sitcom wife. She's beautiful and embodies a figure who everyone thought they knew growing up. But she's wasted the last 10 years of her life in an awful marriage, and when she's not at home, her perfect veneer fades and she revolts against the life she resents.
Another eight episodes have been ordered for Season 2 of Kevin Can F**k Himself, which is slated to return in 2022.

@Snide, @MoeB: Exactly. Why should I stick with a show that doesn't hold my attention.
It's a tough competitive business with several hundred original shows being produced every year now with streaming, cable, and the nets. If I gave every one of them even two episodes, my life would be completely taken over by them.
Let's remember, it's their job to entertain us. We don't owe them anything. Everybody in Hollywood knows this; they all know how fickle the business is and they learn to live with it.

I wouldn’t call them dumb. Some people just don’t have the time, patience, or attention span for a show that doesn’t grip them immediately.

I love how people watch a couple of episodes and think that's what the shows about, when it's just a small portion of the show. So dumb.

Fantastic news !!! Really good show with great acting by Annie Murphy. I did not like the cliffhanger. Make 8 more episodes and finish the story. I am in !!!

Watched the first two episodes, couldn't stand it. The switches between sitcom and reality was nice but once it went down the drug dealing path I checked out. I don't know how many shows have done that, and nobody will do it better than "Breaking Bad". How many different stories about drug dealing are there anyway? It's all the same, the creators of these shows do it because it's cheap drama.
They had one great idea for this series and then called it a day.

Different type of show , Kevin's family is oafish on purpose. Interesting concept in spite of the terrible name of the show.

I think a lot of you are missing the point about the comedy portions. The "laugh track" is there on purpose, do you not get how the show is constructed?

Nice show, better than I expected, but Allison and Kevin are not "prototypical sitcom" characters, but "prototypical bad Kevin James-sitcom" characters, big difference here…
