NBC orders more of the drama for 2022.
November 12, 2021
NBC announced today that La Brea has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes after a solid start to the drama, which has been one of this fall's best freshman ratings performers through its first seven episodes.
In the show, a massive sinkhole has opened in the middle of Los Angeles, with hundreds of people pulled down into a mysterious and dangerous primeval land with no choice but to band together in order to survive. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is desperate to understand what exactly happened and what it means. In the search for answers, one family is torn apart, and must work to unlock the secrets of this inexplicable event so they can find a way back to each other.
Look for Season 2 of La Brea as part of NBC's 2022 fall lineup. For now, three episodes remain before the season finale on November 30.

I really wanted to like this show. I watched the first episode & it was difficult to get through it. I figure I’d give it another shot though. I couldn’t even get through the 2nd episode & had to shut it off about halfway through. I don’t understand how it got renewed. The acting is terrible, the plot is ridiculous & the CGI is awful.

I like it and I'm glad it's renewed its nothing original but better than all the reality crap that floods our screen.

Definitely a lot of extreme reviews here. I'm in the middle. I'm enjoying it and I'm glad it got renewed. However calling it "garbage" or "one of the best shows on TV" is pretty extreme.

This is my least favorite new show, and apparently the only one renewed. Ordinary Joe and The Big Leap have allegedly been canceled (and Our Kind of People, but I don't watch that one).

This show is just boring, bad and frankly just typical Major Network drivel. They have included every major "Woke" group. The characters are all morons and idiots. I mean who the hell sees a Sabertooth Tiger in the first 20 seconds after waking up, then day after day goes into the forest alone or with 2 people, unarmed and unarmored. What kind of an idiot does that? The first thing they should have done was build some sort of compound by moving cars and things around to create a defensible shelter. NOPE ... lets randomly all sleep wherever the F we want without even a sharp stick. Morons ... all of them! I hope the season finally is everyone dies a horrible and painful death, just to teach the viewer not to be a moron like these people.

I read so many negative articles by critics before La Brea's premiere I didn't start watching it until the 3rd episode on Hulu. I actually like La Brea and am glad it has been renewed. I liked Lost until the series final episode, then I hated it. Just hope they don't end La Brea the same kind of way.

WOW. Talk about desperate to fill in the schedule. The show is a poor copy of Lost. Bad writing, bad stories, so so acting, unlikable characters.

Yikes. A reason to care is I don't want more shows like this to be produced. The standard must be pretty low for this to get ratings - as said already.
