The sci-fi drama will return the for 2023-2024 season.
January 31, 2023
NBC announced today that La Brea has been picked up for a third season. The news comes ahead of tonight's midseason return, which will feature back-to-back episodes to kick off the back half of the sci-fi drama's sophomore run.
In the show, a massive sinkhole that opened in the middle of Los Angeles pulled hundreds of people down into a mysterious and dangerous primeval land with no choice but to band together in order to survive. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is desperate to understand what exactly happened and what it means. In the search for answers, one family is torn apart, and must work to unlock the secrets of this inexplicable event so they can find a way back to each other.
Look for Season 3 of La Brea as part of NBC's 2023 fall lineup.

Season 2 is ridiculous. 2 more episodes next week. Then season 3 is short and then it is over. Please start killing off characters. Turn season 3 into Alien or Predator or even The Land That Time Forgot where only a few characters survive. Let the dinosaurs have some fun! Bring back the campiness of season 1.

Too convoluted. It was fun at first but it should have been a limited series.

I love it! The giant gap nov 15 to jan 31 was absolutely dissapointingly stupid. I really enjoy the show it can be stupid at times acting can suck story line can get cheesy but I count down my week to watch.

What a terrible decision but I guess must be relatively cheap to make.
The original premise was interesting but since season two introduced factions and had them fight plus bought in a whole network of holes it made nonsense out of mildly entertaining. Noped out.

Apparently, it was only renewed for 6 episodes in season 3. The cast is supposed to be guaranteed 10 episodes, but agreed to 6. Most, if not all of the cast are opting out of their contracts after season 3, because the network is not fulfilling the 10 episode minimum. On the plus side, we should get a series conclusion, not a series ending cliff-hanger.

First season ok second season big zero not watching. I don't really care for any of the characters.Acting mediocre. But its not a cop show or a medical drama.

I like the show, but I don't love it.
The premis of the show allowed for an awesome story line.
However the storyline is weak and too many of the main characters are also not up to snuff. If it continues its current trend, it'll fall off my watch list.
