The daytime series will air its last episode in January.
December 13, 2021
It was announced today that The Dr. Oz Show is coming to an end after 13 seasons. A solid daytime performer, the talk show will be concluding its lengthy run earlier than expected due to host Dr. Mehmet Oz running for a Pennsylvania senate seat.
On the air since 2009, the series delivers information on important health and wellness topics. Discussions include nutrition, relationships, stress management, and current wellness trends. Its last renewal in 2020 would have taken it to Season 14 in 2023, but Dr. Oz's turn to politics has altered those plans.
In the show's place will be a spin-off titled 'The Good Dish', which will be co-hosted by Dr. Oz's daughter, Daphne Oz. The new series is set to premiere on January 17 in 90% of the country.

Sorry, Jim. I misread your post and thought you were Keith. And no, they wouldn't. I forget the term, but there's one for someone who has an unfair amount of screen time during a political campaign. It's why movie stars running for office are frowned upon, as well.

How many liberal democrats do you know with a show with that reach? Now name the ones who have run for office. You also conveniently chose to ignore that I agree that they SHOULD. Whether they do or not is up to the production company. Plus, he won't lose anything....I'm almost 100% positive he has a stake in his daughter's show. You're grousing over nothing.

Oh come on now. So if he ran as a democrat they would leave his show on the air during his run? Do you really think that?

It has nothing to do with Republican or Democrat. When George Takei (a liberal Democrat) ran for office in San Francisco, his opponent rightly pointed out that Takei had an unfair campaign advantage since he was on television all the time in Star Trek reruns and the original cast movies. It has to do with the amount of face time a candidate has, without ever paying for commercials. I happen to agree with it.

Called it.
This is what unHolywood does when anyone runs as a (R).
