No Season 2 for the comedy reboot.
December 17, 2021
It is being reported by Deadline that HBO Max has cancelled Head of the Class after just one season. The news comes six weeks after the comedy released its freshman run. An updated take on the 1980s sitcom of the same name, the show garnered decent reviews but seemed to fly under the radar in terms of popularity.
From executive producer Bill Lawrence, Head of the Class follows Alicia Adams, who was once a grades-obsessed student but now finds herself teaching a class of overachieving high schoolers. With grades not being an issue for her students, Alicia's goal is to get them to focus less on their studies and more on experiencing what life has to offer outside of the classroom.

Thats how much of a Troll you are
Here you are surmising!
Don't be lazy. Tell reasons why a show is "woke." It seems like if a show beloved in gravity it is woke and has a leftist agenda.
And I watched this show. First, disappointed out the gate that it didn't even have any of the original show's theme song. At all.
Second, the students in the original were in an individualized honors program, and the class was honors history, and in this it was debate class... could have been fine, but the students didn't have the same level of intellectual prowess as the cast of the original were shown to have. They sounded and acted like your normal teenagers who were trying to fit in, rather than teenagers who either didn't fit in because they excelled or didn't fit in because they were too mature or smart for their peers.
The school the original was set within was demolished at the end of the series, so it's no surprise they couldn't use the classroom from the original show, but I think that the setting also hurt it. Instead of the warm tones of the original show, the classroom was very grey and blue, cold.
The teachers we saw in the original show, both, had a quality that showed they had both lived a bit as adults and were talking from experience. Similar to Mr. Feeny or Mr. Turner on Boy Meets World. Not saying a younger teacher couldn't work the same. Girl Meets World had a similar situation with a teacher called Harper, who seemed very young, and Cory Matthews was eventually going to be a teacher like Feeny.
But for a show like Head of the Class, which had 5 seasons of a particular format, with booksmart students in an IHP and a teacher with real world experience, they missed the mark. I had trouble differentiating it from the Saved by the Bell reboot, and even that had the theme song from the original.
Very well said.
Well maybe Robin Givens will have more time for Batwoman then which will be pretty cool.
@"Bro" I like how you have to demean people that dont think like you as though you are the epitome of the highest of intellect and only your opinions matter. Maybe other people dont like seeing shows that have lots of potential be ruined because a bunch of leftist agenda gets shoehorned in. Its fine to have a diverse cast and it wont be "woke" but if the shows plot revolves around pointing it out every 5 seconds then they really had no good story to tell except to point out "hey, look at the diverse cast we put together". That is what turns people off. Go look at RottenTomatoes score for the new 4400 show and compare to the original. The original had a diverse cast too but they had a story to tell.
