The Apple TV+ drama has more story to tell.
January 10, 2022
Apple announced today that The Morning Show has been picked up for a third season. It's the first official renewal for the streaming drama, which premiered as one of the first original series on Apple TV+ in 2019 with an initial 2-season order.
Featuring a cast led by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, the series is set at a popular early morning news broadcast in the midst of a scandal, and behind the scenes there is a struggle to survive during a time when news and information is readily available in the palms of most people's hands. After a long-time broadcast team is broken up, the remaining host is left to fight for her job as a rivalry brews with an aspiring journalist looking to move up the ranks.
Look for Season 3 of The Morning Show late this year or in 2023.

This show's first season was extremely promising, promising to tackle a controversial topic head on while exposing the rot inside of a mainstream news media organization at the same time. It also had talented leads in Steve Carell, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon.
Now that the 2nd season is over I don't know what the point or direction of this show is anymore. Jennifer Aniston's character seems to be stuck in a pathological loop of avoidance/denial of the truth in an obsessive effort to keep her public image positive, Steve Carell's character has been unceremoniously and bizarrely killed after a pointless arc in Italy and Reese Witherspoon has somehow transformed from a down-to-earth woman of the people into the same kind of shallow, vapid, narcissistic personality as the rest of the anchors and media personalities. Oh wait, she's a lesbian now all of a sudden. I guess that counts as character development.
It's not a horrible show but every time I think about it the same 2 questions pop in my mind: Why are we here? What are we doing?
Huh?

@Pat I posted THIS show is about rich white people problems.. because there's ZERO cast members of color. Stating fact doesn't make one a racists.

Huh? You realize you have racist tendencies right? So rich black people do not have imiliar problems? They do. What lousy college taught you to judge on skin color?

Really terrible show.... just something for the rich people to play "make believe". I was interested the first season.. but quickly lost interest in season 2 when it's just all hyper-realized melodrama. Just REALLY felt like "rich white people problems." You know.. the kind they make up or balloon WAY out of proportion because they are simply bored.
I will say it's getting funnier and funnier to see how "plastic" Aniston's face is getting.. she better be carful or she'll start crossing into Nicole Kidman "is that a real face or a silicon mold?" plastic territory.
Funny though Witherspoon.. looks great even as she's aged. If she's had any work done it's hard to tell. She simply looks like an attractive woman of her age... as opposed to the "oh god I need to smooth everything over with continual surgeries so I still look 15..."

Steve Carell is a downright awful person and has no right to be on news. This caters to smelly cvs shoppers.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are horrible people in real life and then you add a news storyline, who is watching this crap???
