No Season 3 for the cable comedy.
January 27, 2022
Word is out that Showtime has cancelled Work in Progress after two seasons. Executive producer Lilly Wachowski took to Twitter with the news, writing a series of posts expressing her disappointment that the comedy was not getting picked up.
The half-hour series premiered in 2019 and has garnered a healthy amount of praise from both critics and viewers. It is also currently nominated for a 2022 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comedy Series. Unfortunately, it was one of the cable network's lowest-rated series, and its audience numbers in Season 2 did not warrant a renewal.
Co-created and written by Abby McEnany, Work in Progress follows Abby, who is played by McEnany in a semi-autobiographical role, a 45-year-old self-identified fat, queer dyke with OCD whose despair and bad luck unexpectedly finds her in a new and vibrantly-transformative relationship with a young trans guy.

Steve is completely becoming unhinged over this program, or Putin, or Covid, or maybe something else. Seek help, as we're all "Works In Progress"

Ironically, you have everything to do with Putin as you are a madman, you have no friends except your make-believe Elmer Fudd and now your make-believe Shane, whom you hijacked to be your pretend friend (the earlier post by Shane was likely real). Somebody around you could take you out because I'm sure you are seen as scum on the bottom of a shoe by everybody everywhere. Just like Putin.

To Steve, With all due respect, what does Putin have to do with this program? Anyway, agree with H and Elmer like I posted awhile back - the premise for the show was a pretty good set up, the storyline did not seem to go anywhere even 2 years later. But Steve, I will say this as you bring up Covid: I think that affected their direction for Season 2...

Manny is the troll trying to unPutinize himself. False flag. Elmer Fudd welcome to the site and welcome to the cartoon thread. Maybe you really don't have a clue what's going on. Just like covid a year ago. Nobody f.... knows. :)

You guys on here are too funny. I thought the first season was pretty good on this one , but number 2 was kinda like a “ number 2” if ya get my drift. But agree with Man, don’t feed the trolls , everybody’s entitled to an opinion- just like everyone’s got a butthole… just try not be a whole butt, lol

To whom it concerns, "Steve," or otherwise : Just let it go and don't give them an audience. Life is too short to get upset over a screen name. I'm sure another "Steve" is out there somewhere too.

To the loser posting as me. Your meaningless graffiti means nothing here and it can only lessen the credibility of those few who are arguing with me. Rarely if ever are your attacks about substance so you are the only one not bored. Clearly you are miserable and have extremely little going for you. I suspect you actually do cause harm in your non- virtual world. Clearly, you have no friends.

I'm not surprised, I liked the first season but the second season was not as good.

.. I skipped season 2 because I found season 1 utterly pointless. Its ONLY apparent goal was to show LGBTQ characters.. completely ignoring the fact that a good story ALSO needed to be present. The characters were okay.. but the story went nowhere... If season 2 was equally pointless.. yeah.. I can see why it was cancelled.
