HBO orders more of the period drama for 2023.
February 14, 2022
HBO announced today that The Gilded Age has been picked up for a second season. Coming just three episodes into the period drama's run, the move follows a solid start that saw its premiere give the cable network its best Monday debut since 'Chernobyl'.
From 'Downton Abbey' creator Julian Fellowes, the series follows a young woman named Marian Brook who moves from rural Pennsylvania to New York City in 1882 after her father's passing to live with her old money aunts. Exposed to a world on the brink of the modern age, Marian must decide whether to follow the established rules of society or forge her own path.
The first season of The Gilded Age runs through March 21. Look for Season 2 sometime in 2023.

I love this show and am learning a lot about this time period. So glad it’s renewed. You can learn more from Cecelia Tichi’s Gilded Age books, I think she’s a consultant on the show. www.cecebooks.com

Oh so @Kathy, You are more than 100 years old to know "How society was then"? Get over yourself... you're just whining about how horrible your children are because you did a lousy job of raising them.

I LOVE this show!! One would have to be blind (& stupid) not to appreciate the unbelievable sets & costumes!! I think it is very realistic because that's how society was then. Heaven knows that children nowadays do whatever the heck they want aka sitting with a phone in their hands!! I think being too strict is better then letting them do whatever they want plus they don't have any responsibility either. Wonder what will happen when they hit the job market!
LOL what?

Other than Christine Baranski, there's not much to this show. I think I've broken my own rule and started hate-watching it because it's so cliched and predictable. And character do things that make NO sense, for no reason other than to keep the drama going. There's an example in the latest episode, and it's just obnoxious. It has all the faults of Downton, and none of the strengths.
Huh?

dunno.. it's kind of boring and it would seem that the SETTING is all that's driving this show... not the storylines.. although Miss Scott's story is interesting they've marginalized it overall.
