The period drama's story will continue.
December 21, 2023
HBO announced today that The Gilded Age has been renewed for a third season. The news comes just four days after the period drama wrapped its sophomore run, which again drew high praise from both critics and viewers.
"We're so proud of what Julian Fellowes and The Gilded Age family have achieved, said Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming, Head of HBO Drama Series and Films. "From the costumes to the production design and performances, the show has captivated so many week after week. Along with our partners at Universal Television, we are thrilled to continue this grand tale for a third season."
From 'Downton Abbey' creator Julian Fellowes, the series follows a young woman named Marian Brook who moves from rural Pennsylvania to New York City in 1882 after her father's passing to live with her old money aunts. Exposed to a world on the brink of the modern age, Marian must decide whether to follow the established rules of society or forge her own path.

This is a fun show. the characters are well drawn. It is not overly deep but its a fine show. Less melodramatic than the excellent downton abbey but still a good show.

And Carrie Coon remains one of the most underrated actors.

Such a great show. I’m not usually one for period dramas or historical fiction, but this show is tremendous.

Great News - excellent show - Broadway actors, impeccable clothing designs, sets are gorgeous - nice that a show of quality gets renewed, instead of the normal 'sh#t.

I'm far too cultivated for much of where tv is going these days, but yet I'm not cultivated enough to want to watch this.
